Mission:
The mission of the East Longmeadow Recreation Travel team tryout and selection process is to ensure that all players receive a fair opportunity to join a team of their peers possessing similar game skills. This program requires evaluations to be considered for placement. Tryouts result in some children not being selected for this program if their skill set matches more appropriately with ELRD's in town recreation soccer programs.

Evaluation Process
The U8/U9 Player Development Academy is focused on developing the skills of young soccer players under the U8/U9 age bracket, and preparing both them and their parents for the opportunity to play travel soccer. The program encourages individual player skill development and introduces the team concept in the format of a club program under the Roots League. This program will be supported (coached) by professional licensed soccer coaches, under US Soccer partnered with Soccer XS along with the support of a parent helper. 
 
*The cost for this program includes the support and cost of a professional coach to support development and skill sets, league fees, and uniform.
 
 Cost of Program $350 (Fall 2022) *Due per when team rosters are established. 
*You must be minimum in grade 2 in fall 2022 to participate on the U8 Travel team
(Uniform is included in registration fees).
