Ice Skating & Hockey Skills - Basic Skills Classes- Monday Winter 1st Session East Longmeadow Recreation is excited to partner with Enfield Twin Rinks (1 Prior Rd, Enfield, CT 06082) to offer Ice Skating for various ages and abilities as well as Pre-Hockey classes. Ice Skating & Hockey Skills - Pre-Hockey Classes- Saturday Winter 1st Session East Longmeadow Recreation is excited to partner with Enfield Twin Rinks (1 Prior Rd, Enfield, CT 06082) to offer Ice Skating for various ages and abilities as well as Pre-Hockey classes. Snowplow Sam Classes: The Snowplow Sam levels are introductory classes designed for children ages 3-5 years old with no prior skating experience. Designed to develop agility, balance, coordination and speed which is essential for developing fundamental movement skills and physical literacy. Classes are taught in a fun, safe and positive environment where learning is encouraged through play. **Helmets are required**Basic Skills Classes: Designed for skaters age 6-16 years old. This class focuses on the FUNdamentals of skating to help skaters build confidence and learn coordination on the ice in a positive fun and social environment. **Helmets are required for anyone 10 and under, however encouraged for all**Adult Classes: Designed for ages 16 and older, this class is an adult curriculum designed for both beginning and experienced adult skaters who wish to improve on their skills. Participation in the program will help promote physical fitness and improve balance and coordination while teaching proper skating techniques. Pre-Hockey Classes: Let's learn to hockey skate, designed for ages 6 and older. Begin your hockey journey in our pre-hockey level 1 & level 2 classes. Master the fundamental skating techniques and skills for hockey players in a fun, safe environment. **Helmets required for anyone 10 and under, but encouraged for all** Attire: Helmets are strongly recommended for all, but required for ages 10 and younger (a bike helmet is acceptable). Wear warm, insulated clothing. Clothing should allow for unrestricted, free movement. Tall thin socks are recommended in order to prevent blisters and limit bunching in the skates. Gloves and mittens to keep the skaters hands warm and protect them as they learn to fall and stand back up. Sweatpants and a jacket are recommended. Snow pants are allowed for those aged 3-5. Skate rentals are available at no additional charge if needed!! No transportation provided!
