Coaching this program is Jeff Paolone. Jeff has been training and coaching jiu jitsu for over 12 years, and started his journey under black belt and multiple-time world champion John Connors outside of Boston. When Jeff moved back home to Western MA, he began training exclusively in no-gi jiu jitsu under 10th Planet black belt Pat Campagnola. Jeff brings a wealth of experience, and a passion for coaching the mats. He is excited to share the art of jiu jitsu and his unique coaching style with the program.
The true value of this program extends far beyond physical fitness. Jiu-jitsu is a vehicle for personal growth. By placing practitioners in controlled, uncomfortable physical positions, it teaches them how to breathe, remain calm, and think critically to solve a problem rather than panicking. Learning how to navigate difficult situations on the mats builds an unshakeable, real-world confidence. It is a common saying among practitioners—one that students frequently parrot back after just a few months of training: “Jiu-jitsu will change your life.” This program aims to bring that trans formative experience to our town’s residents.
- Standard athletic attire (shorts and a t-shirt/rash guard) and a water bottle. No footwear allowed on the mats.
