Babysitting Course - Babysitting Course
This is an entry level course designed to teach age appropriate skills necessary to care for children of all ages using team babysitting, mother’s helper and individual babysitting concepts. The course focuses on safety with emphasis on prevention. All students will receive CPR/First Aid training, and certifications upon completion.* Sign up early! Maximum number is 10 per session.Class Location: Pleasant View Senior Center- 328 North Main Street. Class will be held in the Media Room, room is on the left when you enter the auditorium. Please bring a pen, water bottle and a bagged lunch and snacks. The instructor will break for 30 mins for lunch.

Wrestling - Wrestling Grades 1-8
This is an instructional program for grades 1-8 which provides a safe and controlled environment, teaching proper wrestling moves and techniques through demonstration and drills. The program will begin by teaching and/or reinforcing basic wrestling skills and conditioning drills while working to advance participants to a place where they feel prepared and able to attend wrestling competitions.Wrestlers will be divided into beginner and intermediate/advanced groups based on experience and skill level. Practices will take place on Monday and Wednesday evenings. All practices will be held at East Longmeadow High School with official practice times to be determined and communicated out by coaches at a later date.A T-shirt will be provided. Parents are required to purchase wrestling shoes and headgear in order for their child to participate. Wrestling shoes are required on the mats at all times.Competitions are not required; however, tournament attendance is strongly encouraged for wrestlers who are ready to compete.Registration Closes Monday, 10/26 at 4 PM.

Ice Skating & Hockey Skills - Ice Explorers - Thursday Winter 1st Session
East Longmeadow Recreation is excited to partner with Enfield Twin Rinks (1 Prior Rd, Enfield, CT 06082) to offer Ice Skating for various ages and abilities as well as Pre-Hockey classes. Each participant will need to register to Learn to Skate USA for the insurance. Here is the link: learntoskateusa.com The fee is $18.50. Registrants will receive a subscription to a skating magazine and a work booklet to track skating progress.Ice Explorer Classes: Designed for children ages 2.5 to 4 years old, Ice Explorers is an introductory program to Snowplow Sam classes that begins with age-appropriate activities off the ice and builds to on ice sessions. Helmets are required. 30-minutes on-ice and 30-minutes off-ice activity including story time. Snowplow Sam Classes: The Snowplow Sam levels are introductory classes designed for children ages 3-5 years old with no prior skating experience. Designed to develop agility, balance, coordination and speed which is essential for developing fundamental movement skills and physical literacy. Classes are taught in a fun, safe and positive environment where learning is encouraged through play. **Helmets are required**Basic Skills Classes: Designed for skaters age 6-13 years old. This class focuses on the FUNdamentals of skating to help skaters build confidence and learn coordination on the ice in a positive fun and social environment. This class provides the best foundation for figure skating, hockey, and speed skating. **Helmets are required for anyone 10 and under, however encouraged for all**Adult Classes: Designed for ages 14 and older, this class is an adult curriculum designed for both beginning and experienced adult skaters who wish to improve on their skills. Participation in the program will help promote physical fitness and improve balance and coordination while teaching proper skating techniques. Pre-Hockey Classes: Let's learn to hockey skate, designed for ages 6 and older. Begin your hockey journey in our pre-hockey level 1 & level 2 classes. Master the fundamental skating techniques and skills for hockey players in a fun, safe environment. **Helmets required for anyone 10 and under, but encouraged for all** Attire: Helmets are strongly recommended for all, but required for ages 10 and younger (a bike helmet is acceptable). Wear warm, insulated clothing. Clothing should allow for unrestricted, free movement. Tall thin socks are recommended in order to prevent blisters and limit bunching in the skates. Gloves and mittens to keep the skaters hands warm and protect them as they learn to fall and stand back up. Sweatpants and a jacket are recommended. Snow pants are allowed for those aged 3-5. Skate rentals are available at no additional charge if needed!! No transportation provided!
